Who we are
Carautonomy is a UK-based service that helps drivers understand their cars. For privacy questions you can reach us via our contact page.
Information we collect
- Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and authentication details so we can sign you in.
- Content you submit. Messages you send us, questions you ask Pocket Mechanic, and any details you choose to share.
- Usage data. Pages viewed, approximate location (from IP), device and browser type, and similar analytics signals via Google Analytics.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Used to keep you signed in and to measure how the Service is used.
How we use your information
- To operate, maintain and improve the Service.
- To respond to your messages and support requests.
- To understand which content is useful so we can prioritise what we build next.
- To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers
We use trusted third parties to run the Service, including hosting, database and authentication providers, and Google Analytics for usage measurement. These providers only process data on our behalf.
Data retention
We keep account and content data for as long as your account is active, and only as long as we need it for the purposes above or to meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.

Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
